Monty's Moods

Last updated: June 30, 2025

Monty the Mole isn’t just an icon. He’s a volatile, emotionally unstable force of nature — and his mood changes the entire vibe of the underground.

Each day, Monty’s mood affects:

  • Visual atmosphere

  • Soundtrack

  • Narrative flavor

  • Events

Grumpy Monty – “It’s so over.”

  • Monty’s hit rock bottom (again).

  • The lighting in the tunnels dims. The music turns lo-fi and bleak.

  • Expect:

    • Desperate mining animations

    • Monty nowhere to be found (he’s sulking)

💬 "Back in my day... moles knew when to fold."

Happy Monty – “We are so fcking back.”

  • Monty’s bullish. The pit glows.

  • Casino sounds are lively. The ambiance feels lucky.

  • Expect:

    • Bright lighting and energetic music

    • Positive UI effects

💬 "What recession?"

Mania Monty – “LETS FCKING GOOOOOO”

  • Monty has lost his mind. Or won big. Or both.

  • The pit becomes chaotic: flashing signs, overclocked sounds, neon pulses.

  • Expect:

    • Visual FX spikes

    • Ambient chaos (breakcore, glitch loops)

    • Surprise events or troll encounters (future)

"Did I just give away sh*t i've worked for? WHO CARES!"

Mood Rotation

Monty’s mood:

  • Changes daily

  • Is semi-random, but influenced by:

    • His overall casino win/loss rates

    • Narrative momentum
